🔥Are we going to have yet another “petro-state” hosting next year’s UN Climate Change Conference, COP29?

On day 10 of #COP28 in Dubai, countries from eastern Europe have finally agreed on Azerbaijan to host next year’s conference.

However, this would make it the second year in a row that a so-called “petro-state” plays host to the conference, with oil and gas production accounting for nearly half of Azerbaijan’s GDP and over 92.5% of its export revenue in 2022.
