🔥🌿 Meet Célia Xakriabá: The Lawmaker Fighting for Indigenous Rights 🌿🔥
At just 13 years old, Célia Xakriabá addressed Congress. Today, she’s making history as the first Indigenous federal deputy from Minas Gerais, fighting for Indigenous rights, climate action, and biodiversity. In 2023, she became the first Indigenous woman to chair a congressional commission, leading Brazil’s efforts to protect the Amazon and Indigenous Peoples. 🌍
At #COP28, she launched the Planet Caucus, defending the rights of people and the planet. For Xakriabá, the fight is about representation, justice, and reconnecting people with the land.
This #InternationalWomensDay, we celebrate Célia Xakriabá, a leader proving that real change starts from the grassroots. 🚀
