CGIAR WLE, LPFN and CIAT hold one month of blog discussion on landscape restoration

27 November 2014

Can we rely on large-scale land interventions to fulfil their promises? How can we better understand and influence investments for large-scale land interventions in areas where agriculture is a critical land use?

These are questions for an online conversation, the the CGIAR Research Program on Water, Land and Ecosystems (WLE); the Landscapes for People, Food and Nature Initiative (LPFN); and the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) are hosting. They are calling for blog entries about the promise and potential pitfalls of large-scale land initiatives.

The month-long blog discussion is set in the context of WLE and CIAT’s  session at the Global Landscapes Forum: Creating the conditions for success in large-scale land restoration and the Landscapes for People, Food and Nature Initiative’s African Landscape Action Plan. This plan is also featured in the session of the World Bank and TerrAfrica at the Forum: Building an alliance for resilient landscapes.

Do you have an opinion or experience to share? Submit an opinion piece of 800 words or less. For more information on the blogging see CGIAR WLE Agriculture and Ecosystems

Submissions will be accepted through December 5th.  Please email a.waldorf(at)cgiar(dot)org or lwertz(at)ecoagriculture(dot)org.
