In order to take the “landscapes approach” from concept to concrete, we need people who are trained to color outside the lines. Landscapes are diverse, complex, multi-actor structures with often conflicting sectors. The ability to creating a bridge between these sectors and disciplines and finding solutions that balance needs of multitude of actors from different stakeholder groups is what the landscape approach is about.
For practitioners, business leaders, researchers and PhD fellows the University of Wageningen is organising a special summer school on “Governing landscape restoration: governance, restoration, privatisation”.
Hosted by the Wageningen Forest & Nature Conservation Policy Group, the summer school will take place in Wageningen, Netherlands, 14-19 of June.
Anchor teachers of this Summer school are: Prof. dr. Arun Agrawal from the School of Natural Resources & Environment at the University of Michigan; Prof. dr. Pedro Brancalion of the University of Sao Paulo, and Prof. dr. Manuel Guariguata from CIFOR.
Interactive lectures, discussions, group work, and a multidisciplinary business panel will challenge you to reflect on landscapes, restoration, and the challenges of public-private governance.
