GLF Climate 2022 by the numbers

A rundown of the Global Landscapes Forum at COP27

GLF Climate 2022, a hybrid conference that gathered hundreds of inspiring speakers and thousands of participants from across the world, has wrapped up after running for two days alongside COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, as well as online.

The conference, hosted by the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) gave stage to keynotes, discussions, plenaries, networking, exhibitions and more, which are broken down by the numbers below. There were 6779 participants from 164 countries, with the top ten countries, by the number of participants being:

  1. India
  2. Nigeria
  3. Kenya
  4. Pakistan
  5. Philippines
  6. Indonesia
  7. Ghana
  8. Bangladesh
  9. U.S.

Looking at all attendees, 36 percent identified as female while 48 percent identified as male, but this moved to an almost 50/50 split between male and female for in-person attendees (48 and 46 percent respectively).

What's more, over 70 percent of all participants were under the age of 35.


There were 228 speakers, more than half of whom were women.

The majority of speakers were from Africa followed by Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia and North America.

There was a total of 96 partners for GLF Climate 2022, including 5 media partners and 8 sponsors.


With 43 sessions across 2 days, GLF Climate 2022 hosted:

  • 5 plenaries
  • 20 expert sessions
  • 4 launchpads
  • 6 local and youth action sessions
  • 4 inspirational talks
  • 2 special events
  • 2 networking periods

During the event, there were also 11 white papers released as well as 18 booths to connect participants and organizations.

The reach of GLF Climate goes much further than the participants and speakers, with the 2022 edition seeing:

  • More than 112.24 million impressions
  • More than 584.710 engagements
  • 5,063 new followers
