On 3 December at 11:00 UTC, join us on GLF Live in cooperation with FOLUR as host Peter Mbanda Umunay and experts Christopher Brett and Dinara Akhmetova discuss what the FOLUR Impact Program has achieved over the past year and its goals for 2025.
Dinara Akhmetova is a senior natural resources management specialist at the World Bank’s Environment Department with over 20 years of expertise in sustainable landscapes, natural resource management, climate change and economic analysis of environmental projects. She co-leads the FOLUR Global Knowledge Platform, manages the NBS Invest Global Knowledge Platform (funded by the LDCF GEF) and serves as project manager for the Dedicated Grant Mechanism Global Project (funded by CIF).
Christopher Brett has over 30 years of experience working within the public and private sectors in Africa, Asia and Latin America. He serves as the World Bank representative on the AgResults Steering Committee, providing technical inputs and guidance to the design, monitoring, and evaluation of the Challenge Projects. Brett has a master’s degree in agricultural development from Cranfield University in the U.K.
Peter Umunay (moderator) is a senior environmental specialist at the Global Environment Facility (GEF), based in Washington, D.C. He manages the Food Systems, Land Use and Restoration (FOLUR) and Food Systems integrated programs. Umunay also leads the agriculture and food systems area of work and supports the GEF’s mandate to generate global environmental benefits under the biodiversity, climate change and land degradation focal areas. He holds a MSc and PhD from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.
