Supporting Family Farmers for a world without hunger – a global outlook by the World Farmers’ Organization

Few would doubt that agriculture is one of the key sectors of the future – for feeding a growing world population, improving rural livelihoods and reducing poverty. And if managed sustainably, agriculture can help fight climate change and protect biodiversity.

Still, the contributions of 500 million family farmers to food security are undervalued. To highlight the big role small farmers play, the World Farmers Organization published a newsletter that lets farmers and their supporters tell stories: from Australian family businesses in cotton farming to a young Nepalese woman fighting for land rights and recognition.
