ABOUT THE WRITER

Grace Susetyo is a freelance journalist and CSO consultant based in South Tangerang, Indonesia. She has written for the Jakarta Globe and Indonesia Expat. During a year as a reporter for BeritaSatu TV (2012), Grace field produced in-depth reports on Greater Jakarta’s water supply and rail transportation, and received an AJI-ILO fellowship to produce a documentary about a day in the life of a child laborer in West Java’s footwear industry. Grace completed a Master of Development Studies from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, which included fieldwork research in Timika, Papua, and a thesis on reclaiming the social capital of indigenous Amungme affected by the mining industry’s presence.
